Chicken Ginger Garlic Gravy
This is a simple style of cooking chicken in plain ginger garlic paste along with turmeric, curd, and lime as the marination. Onions, Tomatoes and Curry leaves give as added extra flavor to this chicken when sauteed.

Ingredients

1/2 Kg Chicken, Cut into Medium Sized Pieces
2 Tbsps Ginger Garlic Paste
3 Tbsps Curd
1 Lime
1 Tsp Turmeric Powder
1 Medium Sized Onion
1 Medium Sized Tomato
3 Tbsps Oil
2 Strands of Curry Leaves
Water as required
Salt as required

Preparation

1. Wash chicken pieces well, add the pieces to a bowl.

2. Add salt, turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste, curd and squeeze a lime, add the juice to the chicken pieces. Mix well so that each and every piece is coated with the paste. Allow the chicken to marinate for an hour.

3. Chop a medium sized onion and tomato into small pieces. Keep them aside.

4. Once the chicken has been marinated, take a vessel, heat oil in the vessel, take off the curry leaves from the strands and add the leaves to the oil, once the leaves crackle add the onion, once the onion has become translucent, add the tomato. Saute for around 3 minutes on a medium flame.

5. Now add the marinated chicken to the vessel, mix well. Close the lid of the vessel and allow the chicken to cook on a medium flame. Do not add water at this stage as the chicken may leave out some water.

6. Check if the chicken has been cooked, If the gravy is less, you may add more water. To thicken the gravy, let the lid open once the chicken has been cooked and cook on a medium flame until the gravy thickens.

7. Serve hot with rice.
