Ingredients

20 -30 Medium Sized Squids
2 - 3 Tbsp Recheado Masala
1 Medium Sized Onion
1 Medium Sized Tomato
Oil as per requirement
Salt to taste
1/2 Cup Water

Preparation


Squid Ambot Tik - Squids Fried Separately
1. Clean the squids neatly so as to separate the tentacles from the body. Wash thoroughly well after cleaning and cut into ringlets. Add salt and keep aside for a few minutes.

2. Add oil to a pan and heat it, once hot add the squids, cook till water has oozed out and dried.

3. Once dried, put off the flame.

4. Chop onion and tomato into fine pieces. Add oil to a vessel separately.

5. Once the oil is hot, add onion, let the onion become translucent, then add the tomato and cook till you have a nice fine paste of the tomato, simultaneously you can also mash the tomatoes.

6. Now add the Recheado Masala and cook for some minutes.

7. Add water to the above mixture and add the squids from the pan and cook till the masala blends well with the squids.

8. Serve hot with rice or bread.

9. This recipe can be made in various ways by cooking the squids simultaneously in a single vessel with the masala instead of frying separately. It is your choice. Do follow what suits you best.

10. Please note you can also add Kokum to make it slightly sour, I have not added it here. Ambot means Sour and Tik means Spicy in Konkani.
