Squids in Tomato Gravy
Ingredients
30 - 40 Squids
1 Tsp Turmeric Powder
1 Tsp Salt
1/4 Tsp Fenugreek (Methi) Seeds
2 Tbsp Oil
2 Green Chilies, slit into halves
3 Tomatoes, finely cut
1 Onion, finely cut
20 Pods of Garlic, minced
1 Small Piece of Ginger, minced
1/2 Cup of Water
1 Tsp Turmeric Powder
1 Tsp Salt
1/4 Tsp Fenugreek (Methi) Seeds
2 Tbsp Oil
2 Green Chilies, slit into halves
3 Tomatoes, finely cut
1 Onion, finely cut
20 Pods of Garlic, minced
1 Small Piece of Ginger, minced
1/2 Cup of Water
Servings / Time
4 People / 40 minutes - 1 hour
Preparation
1. Clean the squids neatly so as to separate the tentacles from the body. Wash thoroughly well after cleaning and cut into ringlets.
2. Add turmeric and salt to the squids and allow to marinate for 15 - 20 minutes.
3. Add the ginger, garlic, tomatoes and onion to the blender and blend to form a smooth paste.
4. Add oil to a vessel, heat the oil, add fenugreek seeds and chilies. Cook for a minute.
5. Now add the squids, boil the squids till the water oozes out from them. No need to add water now.
6. Once the above is dry, add the above paste, cook the squids in this paste for some time then add water and boil till the mixture thickens.
7. Serve hot.
